On the afternoon of March 28, 2025, Jinan University hosted the Launch Ceremony of the 2025 Primary and Secondary School Teacher Teaching Skills Competition alongside a training session for preliminary contestants. The event took place in the conference hall of the Jinan University Alumni Building and was organized by the Student Employment Guidance Center and the College of Liberal Arts. Key attendees included Zhang Xiaoxin, Vice President of Jinan University; Tang Junjing, Chairman and President of the Excellent Education Group; leaders responsible for student employment in various colleges; and department heads from the Excellent Education Group. The ceremony was presided over by Li Yunfei, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, with a total of 231 students from 20 colleges registering for the competition, and over 100 participants attending the training.

In her opening remarks, Zhang Xiaoxin emphasized that the Teaching Skills Competition is a vital part of Jinan University's career education initiatives. Since its inception in 2021, the competition has grown significantly and has become a highly regarded platform for enhancing the vocational skills of students. Zhang highlighted that the role of teachers in today's educational landscape extends beyond subject mastery and teaching innovation to include moral education, psychological counseling, and the integration of information technology. She encouraged students to seize this opportunity to improve their competencies and enhance their employability, aspiring to become exemplary educators equipped for the challenges of the modern classroom.
Tang Junjing remarked on Excellent Education Group's commitment to transforming education quality and vocational training. He expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with Jinan University to help students in their career planning and employment, aiming to strengthen the integration of industry, education, and research for the betterment of basic education.
To solidify this partnership, a cooperation framework agreement was signed between the Student Employment Guidance Center, represented by Director Li Yang, and the Excellent Education Group, represented by General Manager Tang Wei. This agreement formalizes the establishment of a College Student Employment Education Practice Base Project, reflecting both parties' commitment to fostering high-quality basic education in the new era through collaborative efforts.

Following the launch ceremony, participants engaged in hands-on training led by experienced educator Wang Nan from the Excellent Education Group, principal Lin Xu from the Talent Growth Center, and senior trainer Huang Xiaomin. The training included an in-depth analysis of the competition's scoring criteria and practical insights on foundational teaching skills. The trainers encouraged students to embrace challenges, push their limits, and showcase their abilities during the competition.
